Getting children active at a young age is crucial for development. It’s vital for physical development, physical literacy and gross motor skills. By learning skills such as basic throwing, catching, jumping and running, we help children become happier and more confident. Skills like agility, balance and coordination are not only a vital part of a healthy upbringing but the basis for capabilities that stay with them for a lifetime.
Physical activity throughout childhood also has substantial social benefits, improving quality of life and reducing the risk of chronic conditions. It’s a fact that generally active children become active adults.
Balance Bikes are a simple type of bike designed to teach children how to balance and steer. The main difference between our balance bikes and regular pedal bikes are balance bikes have no pedals. Children instead propel themselves by pushing the ground with their feet. Balance bikes are a great introduction to riding a bike and help improve coordination, agility and balance.
4 Community Trust can offer you a health day as a full or half-day experience. We bring the entire school together by engaging with parents. This allows us to provide a marketplace for parents to find and share advice regarding nutrition.
Fun & Fit sessions fit into many activity areas including dance, gymnastics and games. Agility, balance and coordination are all developed in the FUNdamental elements of the circuits and FITness is developed using the mini-gym equipment. During these sessions children are also taught about a healthy diet and lifestyle.
